This project was designed for middle school students enrolled in a Computer Applications class. This class fulfills a high school graduation requirement. This project fulfills the following Michigan Department of Education Technology Content Standards:
Students
The main point of this project is: You must educate me about the Rainforest and you must convince me to want to help save the Rainforest! You will use the following tools for this project:
The Internet to research this topic.
A Painting Program to draw realistic pictures of the Rainforest.
PowerPoint to design an accurate and informative multimedia presentation called, Help Save The Rainforest. Remember, a multimedia presentation includes a well designed slideshow AND a well prepared speech.
Students: Please review this information before you begin the activities listed below.
Activity 1:
Gather
20 Facts About The Rainforest.
Answer
the four questions listed below.
Design
appropriate searches using these search engines: Google,
AskForKids,
and Yahooligans.
Write your answers on lined
paper using complete sentences.
No plagiarizing - write using your own words.
Write down a citation for every website you use.
Questions

Find 5 descriptive facts. What is the Rainforest? Describe it. I want to feel like I am there!
- Help save the Rainforest because...
Find 5 really good reasons. Show me why I should help save it.

Find 5 really good suggestions. Give suggestions that are doable and helpful.

Find 5 facts that will convince me that the Rainforest is worth saving!

Activity 3: Create
a PowerPoint Slideshow.
