Bellamy. In 1892, it was published in the September 8th issue of
The Youth's Companion. This was the leading family
magazine and the Reader's Digest of its day.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the
Flag is an oath of loyalty to the United States flag and to the
nation.
In 1942, Congress officially recognized
The Pledge of Allegiance.
