Some Amazing Language Facts
There
are over 2,700 languages in the world.
There
are 7000 dialects.
This is interesting - a dialect is a regional variety of a language. For example people living in the North and in the South of the same country may have different dialects - this means they could have a different meaning for the word or say it in a different way.
The
official language of a country is always the language the government conducts
business in.
Every
pilot flying an international flight, no matter their nationality or where they
are flying to or from, identifies themselves in English.
