Elective Teaching Staff

 

Mr. Rossi
Mr. Rossi became a Physical Education teacher because he enjoys sports, athletics and tutoring and teaching interested team mates.  When he went to school his favorite subject was math and his favorite teacher was his 8th grade English teacher, Mrs. Addulson, because she believed in him. Mr. Rossi did his undergraduate and graduate work at Eastern University.  In his free time, he enjoys gardening, camping, swimming and woodworking.
 
Ms. Leonard
Ms. Leonard became a Physical Education teacher because she loves sports.  Her favorite subjects in school were art and music.  Her best teacher was one of her English teachers because she thought Ms. Leonard was an excellent writer.  Ms. Leonard received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Eastern Michigan University.  In her free time, Ms. Leonard travels and plays golf.  
 
Ms. Ramirez
Ms. Ramirez became a Physical Education teacher because she always enjoyed sports and teaching others.  Her favorite classroom saying is: "Do your best."  Her favorite subjects in school were Home Economics and P.E. and she thought all her teachers were good teachers.  She liked school!  She received her undergraduate degree from Eastern University.  In her spare time, she sews, embroiders, makes quilts and swims.
 
Mr. Shamey
Mr. Shamey became a Physical Education teacher because he thinks teaching is a great career choice.  His students often hear him say: "Keep up the good work."  His favorite subjects in school were P.E. and history and his best teachers were his P.E. and history teachers because he learned a lot from them and had a lot of fun doing so.  Mr. Shamey received both his BA and MA degrees from Eastern Michigan University.  Outside of school he plays basketball, goes fishing and watches football.

Ms. Dyer
Ms. Dyer became an Art teacher because she loves and believes in the importance of Art and its value to the world, our children, and our future.  Her favorite classroom saying is: "Awesome!"  Her favorite subject in school was Art and her best teacher was Mr. Moreno because he taught art - he didn't just provide art activities to fill time.  Ms. Dyer did her undergraduate work at Western Michigan University and is currently doing her graduate work at Eastern Michigan University.  In her spare time, she runs, makes glass jewelry, and hangs out with her family and friends. 
 
Mrs. Sloan
Mrs. Sloan teaches French and Spanish to 6th, 7th and 8th graders.  She became a teacher because she always felt in her heart that she could make a big difference in the lives of children.  Her favorite classroom saying is: "Do everything with love."  She enjoyed French Reading and Literature when she went to school and Ms. Jefferson was her best teacher because she loved teaching and she was very enthusiastic about it.  Mrs. Sloan received her graduate and undergraduate degrees from Wayne State University.  Outside of school, Mrs. Sloan enjoys reading, traveling, and listening to music.
 
Mr. Gozzard
Mr. Gozzard teaches Instrumental Music to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.  He became a teacher because he loves music and sharing it with others.  His favorite classroom saying is:  “Readers are leaders!”  Band has his favorite subject when he was a student.  His best teacher was "Doc" Reinhardt, his Trumpet Teacher, because he was a great teacher who could make anyone a better player.  Mr. Gozzard received his undergraduate degree from Oakland University and he did his graduate studies at Oakland and Western Michigan University.  Outside of school he enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons and playing golf.
 
 
Ms. Evers
Ms. Evers became a Life Management teacher so that she could share the fun and excitement that she enjoyed in her early Life Management classes.  Her students often hear her say: "Never give up."  She enjoyed her English and Life Management classes when she went to school.  Mr. Galey was her best teacher because he was fun and taught her information that she still uses today.  Ms.Evers did her undergraduate work at Madonna University and her graduate work at Eastern Michigan University.  In her free time, she cross stitches and follows her son's sport's activities.
 
Mr. Miller
Mr. Miller teaches Technology Education.  He enjoys watching young people grow into the best person they can be.  His favorite saying is: "Alrighty then!"  His favorite subject in school was Spanish and his best teacher was Mr. Wehr because... "He spoke to us as 6th graders, not AT us."  Mr. Miller did his undergraduate work at Millersville University and his graduate work through East Stroudsburg University.  In his spare time, he camps, does home improvements and tinkers with his show car.
