
8th Grade Teaching Staff
Mr. Saleh
Mr. Saleh became a teacher to teach what he has a
passion for - Imagination. His favorite saying is: "Think before you think,
before you think, before you think, before you think." When he went
to school his favorite subject was English and his best teacher was Mrs. Rooks
because she recognized all her students' abilities and she encouraged her
students to do their best. Mr. Saleh did his graduate and undergraduate
work at Wayne State University. In his free time he enjoys creative
writing.
Ms. Schulkey
Ms. Schulkey
became a teacher to help students achieve their goals, both academically and
socially. She often reminds her students to: "Treat others the way you want
to be treated." When she was a student, her favorite subject was
Social Studies. Her best teacher was Mr. Swaney because he always was
willing to help her inside and outside the classroom. He made her want to
learn." Ms. Schulkey received her undergraduate degree from
Eastern Michigan University. In her free time, she hangs out with her
family and goes to the movies.
Ms. Knisley
Ms. Kopp
Ms. Kopp teaches 8th grade science. She
became a teacher because she enjoys working with children. Her favorite
saying is: "There is no such thing is I can't." Her favorite
subject in school was physical education. She had a PE teacher in
elementary school who inspired her and taught her that she could do anything.
She received her undergraduate degree from Wayne State University. In her
free time, she enjoys sports, painting, and spending time with her husband and
dog.
Ms. Klemetson
Ms. Klemetson
enjoys working with children and helping them achieve their potential.
When she was a student her favorite subject was Language Arts and her best
teacher was Mr. VanGrouw because he had high expectations along with a sense of
humor. Ms. Klemetson received her undergraduate degree from Central
Michigan University. Outside of school, she enjoys doing activities with
her family.
Ms. Arning
Ms. Furkioti
Mr. Furkioti became a teacher so she could share the joy
of learning. Her students often hear her say this: "Do your
best!" Her favorite subject in school was English and her best
teacher was Mrs. Guest because she made learning concrete and fun. Ms.
Furkioti graduated from Central Michigan University and from Wayne State
University. In her spare time, she likes refinishing furniture, shopping
and spending time with her family.
Mr. Bennett
Mr. Bennett tells his
students: "Knowledge is power." Mr. Bennett did his
undergraduate work at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and his graduate work
at Eastern Michigan University. Outside of school, he enjoys horseback
riding and swimming.
Mr. Haddad
Mr. Haddad became a teacher because he enjoys working with kids. His
favorite saying is: "Hit the bricks." His favorite subject in
school was math and his best teacher was Mr. Mesikaen because he taught him to
enjoy success brought about by learning. Mr. Haddad went to U of M
for his undergraduate degree and to Wayne State University for his grad
work. In his spare time, he watches movies, plays golf and tennis.
