
7th Grade Teaching Staff
Ms. Alie
Ms. Alie became a teacher because of the rewards the
profession offers. Her students will often hear her say this: "Fair
does not mean every student gets equal. It means every student gets what
they need." Her favorite subject in school was English and her best teachers were the ones who started with and consistently emphasized
their high expectations for her. Ms. Alie did her graduate and
undergraduate work at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. In her free
time she spends time with her friends and family, cooks, and reads.
Ms. Dobrzeniecki
Ms. Schwartz
Ms. Schwartz chose to become a teacher because
it is an occupation that she could look forward to getting up and going to each
day. Her students have heard her say: "We are all butterflies on
a tree." and "Nature always wins." Her favorite subject in
school was Science and her best teacher was Mrs. Helen Markey because she
encouraged girls to set goals - then to focus on reaching those goals. Ms.
Schwartz went to Eastern Michigan University for her undergrad work and to U of
M-Dearborn for her graduate work. Outside of school, she gardens, does
crossword puzzles, and rides her bike (with her helmet on!).
Mr. Saad
Mr. Saad became a
teacher because he enjoys working with children. His favorite subject in school
was Math and his best teacher was Mr. Costea. "We all knew Mr. Costea loved
us and cared about us." Mr. Saad did his graduate and undergraduate
work at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. In his free time, he watches sports
and plays pool.
Ms. Brumfield
Ms. Brumfield went into teaching to help educate tomorrow's leaders.
She tells her students: "You can do anything you put your mind
to." Her favorite subject in school was English and her best teacher was Ms. Canfield because she was firm. And she says: "I still use
strategies that Ms. Canfield taught me to this day." Ms. Brumfield
did her undergraduate work at Austin Peay State and her graduate work at
Fayettville State University. In her spare time she enjoys her children,
piano, reading, football, basketball and exercising.
Ms. Smith
Ms. Smith attended Michigan State University and Wayne State University
for her undergraduate studies and Eastern University for her graduate
work. She likes to travel and read. She also enjoys vocal music.
Mr. Serazio
Mr. Serazio teaches 7th grade Civics and Economics.
He became a teacher because he enjoys
working with kids. His
favorite classroom saying is "I am not fair."
His
favorite subject in school while he was growing up was gym.
The best teacher he ever had was his 8th
and 9th grade Social Studies teacher, Mr. Ashcroft.
He was Mr. Serazio’s most favorite teacher because
he made learning fun. Mr. Serazio
received his undergraduate degree from Central Michigan and his graduate degree
from Wayne State and U of M-Dearborn.
In his spare time he enjoys watching and playing
sports, playing on the computer, and, of course, playing with the three best
kids in the world, Jenna, Trey, and Jac Jac (they’re his kids J).
Mr. Harrison
Mr. Harrison became a teacher because his
teachers were literally his heroes. He decided that he wanted to be for
others what his teachers had been for him. His favorite classroom saying
is this quote by Henry Ford: "Whether you think you can or you think you
can't - you are right!" Mr. Harrison's favorite subject in school was
science and his best teacher was Dr. Herm Boatin because he enjoyed what he did
and he was fair, creative, interesting, funny and very committed to his
students' learning. Mr. Harrison did his undergraduate studies at Michigan
State University and his graduate work at the University of
Michigan-Dearborn. Outside of school, he coaches and plays hockey almost
year-round. He also collects snakes and other reptiles.
