
6th Grade Teaching Staff
Mrs.
Cataldo
Mrs. Cataldo became a teacher because she loves children and she loves to
teach. Her best classroom sayings are: "Hi, my
honeys!" and "Bye, my honeys!" When she went to
school her favorite subject was social studies and her best teacher was her 6th
grade teacher, Mr. Janich, because he was challenging and fun at the same
time. Mrs. Cataldo did her undergraduate studies at the University of
Michigan-Dearborn and her graduate work at Oakland University. Outside of
school, she enjoys reading, family gatherings and cooking.
Ms. Blackmore
Ms. Blackmore became a teacher
because she wanted to help, direct and see the joy of learning. Her
students will often hear her say: "Never settle for less than your
best. Be proud of your work." She graduated from
Eastern Michigan University and then went on to receive her graduate degree from
the University of Michigan - Dearborn. Her best teacher was Sister
Mirian because she made her feel like she could do anything. In her
spare time, Ms. Blackmore cooks, skis and does arts and crafts.
Ms.
Addis
Mrs. Addis wants her students to enjoy math as much as she does and her best
classroom saying is "Train your brain!"
When Ms. Addis went to school her favorite subject was math and her best teacher was Mr. Seymour because he always pushed her to be her best. Ms.
Addis graduated from Eastern Michigan University. In her spare time, she
reads and cooks.
Mrs.
Fleezanis
Mrs. Fleezanis loves to work
with students and she wants to make a difference. She tells her students: "Try
harder. You can do it. It's OK. Stay organized." When
Mrs. Fleezanis was a student she liked language arts and her best teacher was Mrs. Ortiz because she encouraged her to always try to do her
best. Mrs. Fleezanis received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees
from Eastern Michigan University. Outside of school, she runs, reads,
gardens and cooks.
Mr.
Lesley
Mr. Lesley's best saying is: "Sometimes you
eat the bear; sometimes the bear eats you." He did his
undergraduate work at the University of Detroit and his graduate studies at the
University of Michigan.
Mrs.
Guinn
Mrs. Guinn became
a teacher because she loves to learn and she loves school. She often tells
her students this: "Look for the BIG PICTURE." Her
favorite subject when she was a student was language arts and her best teacher was Mrs. Feeny because the kids in her class recited poems by memory
every Wednesday for a treat! Mrs. Guinn graduated from Southern Illinois
University and then went on to receive her graduate degree from the University
of Michigan - Dearborn.
Mrs. Makowski
Mrs.
Makowski teaches 6th grade Math.
She thinks teaching is an enjoyable career.
When she was a student she enjoyed Math and Band and playing soccer and
tennis after school.
Dr. Shelke and Dr. Pinkard were her favorite teachers.
Dr. Shelke taught Language Arts and Dr. Pinkard taught computers at U of
M. Both
teachers made her feel comfortable in areas that she found challenging.
Mrs. Makowski received her undergraduate degree from U of M-Dearborn and
her graduate degree in Educational Technology from U of M-Ann Arbor.
In her spare time, she enjoys downhill skiing, Mountain Hiking,
Scrap-booking, and College Football.
