Welcome To The Main Office

Ms. Maconochie - Principal
Ms. Maconochie is the principal of Stout Middle School.  Prior to becoming Stout’s principal, Ms. Maconochie was a K-12 classroom teacher for over a decade.  Her area of expertise was visual arts.  She became very interested in effective leadership after she took some courses in business and law.  These experiences led her to pursue a degree in Public Administration. She pursued this degree because she wanted to become an administrator where she could have a greater impact on a school community.  She became Stout’s Assistant Principal in the year 2000.   In 2005 she became Stout’s Interim Principal and shortly after that Stout’s principal. She very much enjoys Stout Middle School for its diverse school community.  She also enjoys our 6th  , 7th, and 8th graders for their energy and the possibility of what could be for all of them.  When asked what advice she would like to give to our student body, she said:  “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a promise, and today is a gift.  Today is the day to create a plan, come up with a strategy, and map out your path to success by practicing excellence and listen for the often missed knock of opportunity. Always have hope, never say never, you can do and be anything you dream to be.”

Mr. Mashhour - Assistant Principal
Mr. Mashhour is Stout Middle School’s Assistant Principal.  Prior to becoming Assistant Principal, Mr. Mashhour was an 8
th grade Science teacher here at Stout for six years, then our interim assistant principal for half a year.  As an administrator he feels that he can help make Stout a better school and impact more lives than he could as a teacher because he has relationships with kids from every grade and every class.  Mr. Mashhour appreciates Stout Middle School for its family atmosphere and the many caring individuals that are part of our staff and our community.  He values the uniqueness of each child and enjoys watching them grow as they search for an identity.  When asked what advice he has for our students, he said:  “It’s nice to be important, but more important to be nice.”

Ms. Coulter - Administrative Assistant Secretary
Some of the responsibilities of our administrative assistant secretary include handling staff absences, payroll, budget, administrative assistant, and various clerical duties.

Ms. Elkhatib - Accounting Secretary
Ms. Elkhatib is Stout’s Accounting Secretary and she has been at Stout for five years.  Her work responsibilities include enrollment (adds/drops), student count, lunch applications, and school physicals.  Plus she does a little bit of everything in the main office.  When asked what she likes best about Stout, she said:  “The Stout staff.  We're all family here.”  When asked what advice she would like to give our students, she said:  Controlling your anger is better than allowing someone else to control you by making you lose control."

Ms. Khaled - Attendance Secretary
Before coming to Stout Middle School, Ms. Ikram lived in Lebanon and worked for the American Community School of Beirut.  She has worked in our building for about 5 years.  Her work responsibilities include attendance, helping out with registration, entering any information into the computer system that needs to be entered, and helping out the counseling office. Her words of wisdom to students are:  “Reach out!  It may be hard and unfamiliar at first, but you should make an effort to introduce yourself to people in your classes, take the initiative, and they will be more than happy to help and befriend you.”
