Look below to review this week's objectives for 7th Grade.  In order to obtain more information about a specific benchmark for the content areas of Science and Social  Studies, please do the following:

  1. Remember the benchmark number (example: Science BM5).

  2. Then click on this link, Middle School Benchmarks.  Next, click on the subject you would like to view.

  3. Click on the desired benchmark number from the list that comes up on the screen.

This link will provide you with quick and easy access to the MICLiMB (Clarifying the language in Michigan's benchmarks). You will find an enormous amount of useful resources. Each benchmark is clarified with an instructional example, key concepts, real world context, and other web resources.

In order to obtain more information about a specific benchmark for the content areas of Language Arts and Math, please do the following:

  1. Remember the GLCE (example: R.WS.07.01).

  2. Then click on this link, Grade Level Curriculum Expectations.
  3. Next, select the grade level and content area that you wish to review.

LANGUAGE ARTS:
W.GN.07.02 Write a research report (e.g., I-search, website, traditional) for an authentic audience that includes appropriate organizational patterns (e.g., problem statement and solution, position statement and supporting evidence, compare and contrast), descriptive language, and text features.
W.GN.07.03 Formulate research questions using multiple resources, perspectives, and arguments/counterarguments to develop a thesis statement that culminates in a presented, final project.
W.RP.07.01 Set a purpose, consider audience, and replicate authors’ styles and patterns when writing narrative or informational text.
W.RP.07.02 Apply a variety of pre-writing strategies for narrative (e.g., story maps that are designed to depict roles of antagonist and protagonist, internal and external conflict) and informational text (e.g., position statement and supporting evidence, problem statement and solution,, compare/contrast).
W.RP.07.03 Revise their writing to reflect different perspectives for multiple purposes.
W.PS.07.01. Exhibit individual style to enhance the written message (e.g., in narrative text: personification, humor, element of surprise; in informational text: emotional appeal, strong opinion, credible support).

MATH:
A.PA.07.01 Recognize when information given in a table, graph, or formula suggests a proportional or linear relationship. A.RP.07.02 Represent directly proportional and linear relationships using verbal descriptions, tables, graphs, and formulas, and translate among these representations.
A.PA.07.03 Given a directly proportional or linear situation, graph and interpret the slope and intercept(s) in terms of the original situation; evaluate y = kx for specific x values, given k, e.g., weight vs. volume of water, base cost plus cost per unit.

SCIENCE:
Demonstrate evidence that all parts of living things are made of cells.  SCI.III.1.MS.1
Explain why and how selected specialized cells are needed by plants and animals.  SCI.III.1.MS.2
Explain how selected systems and processes work together in animals.   SCI.III.2.MS.4
Compare and classify organisms into major groups on the basis of their structures. SCI.III.2.MS.1
