The Head Start Program is available beginning at age 3 and 4 for students who qualify for the program. The Head Start Program is designed for children from lower income families. For more information please contact Flat Rock Head Start at (734) 782-2141.
Gibraltar School District offers several programs for preschoolers at the Early Childhood Education Center in Rockwood. The Michigan School Readiness Program (MSRP) serves families with children 4 years of age. This program is free to families who qualify. There is also a tuition-based program for 3 and 4 year olds. For additional preschool information in Gibraltar, please call Terri Calmus at (734) 379-7807.
Parents of younger children (0-3 years) with special needs may seek assistance from the T.O.T.E. (Teach Our Tots Early) program. These children qualify for special education services under a variety of categories. For more information regarding this early intervention program call the Coop Office at (734) 692-7570.
The Coop also offers a specialized program for significantly impaired preschoolers (3-5). The curriculum is designed to provide activities to improve each child’s speech and language, motor, and cognitive skills. If you suspect that your child may qualify for this program contact the Coop Office at (734) 692-7570.
