North's

Trail
A Small Woods in a Wider
World

North's Nature Trail is a small refuge for nature
and wildlife in densely populated and bustling Wayne county. It is tucked
between Willow Run airport to the west and Detroit Metro airport to the east.
Open land surrounding Willow Run and diminishing farmland extending northward
helps to support a wide variety of wildlife. A small stream just outside the
property eventually empties into Belleville Lake. This wildlife corridor is
disrupted by Interstate I-94 directly to the south. Wildlife has adapted to
constant noise and pollution from the expressway and air traffic overhead as
well as heavy traffic from surrounding local roads. You can study this
phenomenon and learn ways we can all help wildlife survive in our neighborhoods
by exploring these helpful websites.
Please visit and enjoy your neighborhood nature trail!
