The mission of Shumate Middle School is to create a learning environment where all students may excel to their highest potential.  Through a partnership of staff, students, parents and community, we teach and guide our adolescent students to attain skills and set goals that nurture life-long learning.  We promote personal and academic competency.  We educate students on the importance of respect for self and others.
