Marketing Students Attend Detroit Tigers Career Day
On Thursday, April 24, ninety-six marketing students and four business instructors from Carlson High School attended the Detroit Tigers Career Day at Comerica Park. The purpose of the field trip was to reinforce concepts learned in class, make students aware of career opportunities in sports marketing, and help students understand what they need to do to prepare for jobs of this nature. The first part of the day involved listening to presentations made by various members of the Detroit Tigers front office. Afterwards the students had time to explore the stadium, watch the players warm up, and get autographs. The highlight, however, took place that afternoon as the students cheered the Tigers on to an exciting victory over the Texas Rangers. Overall, the field trip was a great learning experience that will hopefully continue on as an annual event. Go Tigers!
