Development: The Belleville High School Media Center Web was first developed during the 1997-1998 school year as
a teaching tool for students and staff new to the Internet,
a resource for students and staff conducting research,
a reference tool for media specialists, and
a service to all students, staff and families in the Van Buren Public School System.

This web was initially created on personal time, supported by the Internet Integration Technology Grant 1998-1999 with funding for software and some hardware, and a two-day workshop on Microsoft FrontPage 98. Many thanks for collaborative help to Mr. Steve Wilson, Ms. Nancy Cornett (District Technology Coordinator) and Ms. Jan Jarrell (WCRESA Webmaster).

Selection Policy: The print and electronic resources cited here are just a representative sample of the thousands available to students and staff both in and out of the BHS Media Center. Sites are selected based on
relevancy to curriculum and student research requirements,
ease of access (download time),
ease of use (which preferably include a site search engine or index),
reliable and reputable authorship,
current, accurate, relevant and well-presented information, and
information available at no cost and no obligation or through budgeted subscription.
