“What’s Cookin’” in the BHS Food Service Center
2007-2008 School Year
Welcome to the Van Buren Public Schools Food Service Center. We have an
innovative concept for school lunch, designed to offer fast service, quality
food, and a wide variety of food choices in a comfortable environment.
Your Food Service Center has five different service areas:
Daily Feature – Each day there will be a different entrée offered along with a fruit and/or salad, vegetable and/or potato, milk and/or juice, and a special dessert twice a week. These complete meals cost only $2.75 each and can be found in the line to the right when entering the service area.
Combo Only – You can find this section by standing in line at any of the first four registers to the left of the Daily Feature line. Six combo meals are offered daily. Combo meals include fries, small salad, milk and juice, with the exception of the Chef Salad and Nacho Supreme. These combo meals cost between $2.50 and $2.75. Soft Drinks and other beverages will be available for purchase, but are not included in the Combo Meal.
A-la-Carte – Individual items will be available for purchase. For instance, Wrap Sandwiches, Chicken Flatbread Sandwich, Chef Salad, Burgers, Chicken Nuggets/Sticks/Patty, Nachos with Cheese, French Fries, soft drinks, canned drinks, assorted snack items, and many more. These A-La-Carte items can be purchased at the three registers to the left of the four Combo Only Stations
Breakfast/Quick Snack - Breakfast items are available for purchase from 7:00 am-7:25 am with cereal, cappuccino, hot chocolate, donuts, fresh fruit, juice, milk, muffins, and toaster pastries. Quick pick-up goodies such as beverages, chips, cookies, snack cakes, and French fries are available at lunchtime. You can find this station at the far left of the service area.
Pizza Cart – Located in the dining area (look for the red cart) by the entry doors. This features pizza combos, beverages, and snacks daily.
If you are eligible for free or reduced
priced lunch, you may use the “Daily Feature” or “Combo Only” lines. Please
have your Student ID with you.
Buying Lunch is as easy as 1-2-3!
1. Bring money, cash or check, to lunch
with you and deposit it into your account at any of the cash registers,
except the Pizza Cart. Make checks out to BHS Food Service.
2. Remember your Student ID card and come
through any of the lines in the serving area (exception Pizza Cart in dining
area) and the cashier will scan your ID and deduct your order from the money
on your account.
3. Enjoy great food, and don’t worry about losing your money. It’s safe with us!
Can’t wait to see your smiling face in our Food
Service Center this year!
