Prerequisite: French III and
Departmental Approval
Course Description:
French III is a continuation of the French language and an introduction to
more complex grammar. The students will read and discuss selected literary
works and complete a research project in Spanish.
Major
Areas of Study:
Advanced vocabulary, all verb tenses (regular and irregular) in indicative
and subjunctive moods, perfection of various grammatical constructions,
pronunciation, and continued cultural information about various
French-speaking countries.
Objectives:
Students will be able to:
Advance their skills in French in the following areas:
Speaking
Listening
Reading
Writing
Increase their knowledge of the cultures of various French-speaking
countries
Activities and Skill Development:
In addition to the above, students will demonstrate that they can do the
following and will be assessed by oral and written evaluation (tests,
quizzes, paragraphs):
1. Expand and perfect all abilities in French (speaking, reading, writing,
and oral
comprehension)
2. Develop a more in-depth knowledge of French vocabulary and culture
3. Be able to read, comprehend, analyze and discuss more complex,
unsimplified text
4. Be able to write a research paper in French
