ˇBIENVENIDOS! BIENVENUS! WELCOME!
Welcome to Spanish/French class! I'm pleased to have you in class and
look forward to a productive and fun year. During the course of the
school year, you will be learning to communicate and understand
communication in Spanish/French. This means you will be doing a lot
of talking in Spanish/French as well as listening to a lot of
Spanish/French being spoken by me, by other students, on tape, and
in videos. Communicating in Spanish/ French is the main goal of
this class.
ATTENDANCE:
Attendance is
extremely important! If you aren't in class, you can't participate
and practice your Spanish.
Since much of the in-class work will be practice in speaking and
listening to Spanish,
this cannot be made up later. Furthermore, since a portion of your
grade is determined by your participation in class and your in-class
work, attendance is very important grade-wise.
Your absence
does not relieve you of the responsibility of completing all your
class work and homework assigned during your absence. It is your
responsibility to come to me and ask me for the make-up work for the
day(s) you miss. Please be advised that if your absence is
unexcused, you will not receive credit for any
in-class work or tests done that day or any homework assigned that
night, although you will be allowed to complete the work for
practice. In order to use
bonus participation points to raise your grade at the end of the
card marking, students must have no unexcused absences.
Tardies will
result in a 3-point penalty deducted from your participation grade.
Also bear in mind that our school-wide policy allows you 2 tardies
before detention must be served to make them up. You can use one of
your hall passes to get rid of a tardy.
GRADING:
The grade percent range in this class is:
A+ = 100% or more C = 73 - 76%
A = 93 - 99% C- = 70 - 72%
A- = 90 - 92% D+ = 67 - 69%
Grades will not be rounded.
B+ = 87 - 89% D = 63 - 66%
B = 83 - 86% D- = 60 - 62%
B- = 80 - 82% E = 0 - 59%
C+ = 77 - 79%

accepted. Homework not completely finished at the beginning
of the hour will be considered late and will not
receive any credit. To receive credit, homework must be
completely finished at the beginning of the hour. Most homework
assignments are worth 5 points. You can use 25 bonus coupons from
your participation sheet or one of your hall passes in place of a
homework assignment once per card marking. If you have no tardies
during the semester, you will receive one free homework pass.

assignments can be accessed by clicking on the homework link on my
