School's almost here!
Summercise projects and folders may be turned in to
Mrs. Jones at the school the week before school starts. We hope
you've enjoyed the program and will join us again next summer!
We'd like to know how you felt about this online
summer program. Please take a moment to complete our survey so we
know how to make changes for next year! Thank you!

Welcome!
We are pleased and excited
that you have chosen to participate in Gallimore Elementary Schools
Summercise 2002 Internet Research Program. We hope you and your children
will find this to be a fun and rewarding experience!
Its now up to you!
Decide which topic you wish to start with. As you begin, you will note
the following:
- This year you may choose to do either the SOCIAL STUDIES or the
SCIENCE activities. Both packets are not requiredbut may be done
if you so choose.
- For SCIENCE and SOCIAL STUDIES, you will find a link to your grade
level. Click this link to go to that grade.
- Once there, open up your packet (enclosed) and get a pencil ready!
- Follow the instructions on the web site, using your packet to
guide you. Fill in your answers on the packet as you go along.
- You will note that all links to other web sites will open a new
browser window (click the middle box in the upper right hand corner
to enlarge the window).
- When finished with that particular section, close that window (use
the "X" in the upper right hand corner).
- You will once again see the original Summercise site window.
- Continue to the next task, or stop here to continue on another day
or to work on another subject.
- Feel free to work at your own pace.
Since this program is on
the Internet, it can be completed from any computer with an Internet
connectionat the public library or even while visiting Grandma! We
do, however, strongly recommend adult supervision whenever your child
surfs the web. Although we have visited all of the sites you will be
linking into and are confident of their content, it is always possible
that your child may follow links to other web sites of which we have not
visited. Please visit the American Library Associations
"Librarians Guide to Cyberspace for Parents and Kids" for
important Internet safety tips at: http://www.ala.org/parentspage/greatsites/safe.html
If you find any problems
with the Summercise web page or encounter any broken links, please
contact us by e-mail at: gallimore@psldesigns.com
Questions regarding the
packets or Summercise procedures may be directed to Mrs. Sharon Jones,
Learning Specialist, at: BeeAReader@msn.com
